Cowboy Ted's Recreation Guide For Kids
The Utah Skyline Recreation Guide was created by "Cowboy Ted" Hallisey to provide kids with a book to encourage families to get outside, get active and get healthy.
The 2009 guide features recreation opportunities in Central and Southern Utah. The 2010 version of the guide has expanded to highlight recreation opportunities in each of Utah's 29 counties.
Utah's State and National Parks are also featured in the guide, along with a number of suggestions for outdoor recreation locations in Utah. There are also suggestions for water parks and other family-friendly adventures.
Cowboy Ted and his friend Mike Barton of I-Four Media, produce a print version, as well as, an on-line version, which allows readers to see the entire guide on the Internet.
Kids and parents can click on a page from their computer at home and print that page. Readers can also click on a page for a link to additional web sites that provide more details about the recreation option that is featured on certain pages.
The Utah Skyline Recreation Guide is designed with three goals in mind -
- To encourage kids to read.
- To invite kids to become more familiar with computers and safely use the Internet.
- To encourage kids and families to get outside, get active and get healthy in Utah.
