WEST VALLEY CITY - Ted Hallisey, more often referred to as "Cowboy Ted," will be at the West Valley Branch of the Salt Lake County Library, 2880 W. 3650 South, at 7 p.m. Monday.

Hallisey will read from his "Billy the Bull" book series and talk with children about his eight steps for making healthy choices.

The educator made a name for himself in 1999 when he founded the Cowboy Ted Foundation for Kids and set out to share the importance of reading and healthy living with 1 million children.

Hallisey beefed up his messages by writing the eight-book "Billy the Bull" series, with each book focusing on a different step to living healthy.

The event is free. For more information, call 801-944-7621.
