Champion Horse Racing team from Utah featured in national publication

Jimmy Padgett of South Jordan, Utah and his team of American Quarter Horse geldings - Niftyandthrifty and Apologist - are featured in the July issue of Western Horseman magazine. Padgett and his horses are shown on page-32 in the current issue of the national magazine in recognition of winning the Cutter & Chariot Racing World Championship held in Ogden, Utah.
Padgett works as a contractor and builds power lines during his full-time job and he plans to give his team of chariot horses the summer off. He will now turn his focus to the summer Quarter Horse racing season held at Laurel Brown Track near his home in South Jordan, Utah. His family has been involved with the horse racing business for his entire life.
"Words can't even describe it - I am just so proud of them right now, said an emotional Louise Padgett (the mother of the wining driver). They worked so hard for one solid year to come back here and get this title," Louise reported following the victory in Ogden.
"I love the speed associated with chariot racing, Padgett reported. The speed is it and it gives your body a total rush and I like that feeling. I have been very fortunate and haven't had any major wrecks in chariot racing. When you train your horses right, there are very few wrecks in this sport."
