Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week was created in California in 1985 to honor the memory of Enrique Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent who investigated drug activity in California and Mexico and was killed by the drug cartel.

Illegal drugs cause thousands of deaths each year and drugs are often involved in acts of violence and illegal activity. Law enforcement agencies, Schools, health departments, parents and students come together for Red Ribbon Week in October.

Drugs, tobacco and alcohol have a negative impact on your brain and physical development – especially for people under the age of 18.

Make the pledge to be Drug-Free and ask your friends and relatives to join you in pledging to be Drug-Free for life.
