Schools out - but reading for 30 to 60 minutes each day is still very important.

Reading helps you develop mental strength and brain power. You need to exercise your brain to develop better mental skills - just like you exercise your muscles to develop physical skills?

Reading is a great way to exercise your brain and increase your strength in the form of knowledge and memory. Reading also helps you practice proper use of grammar and punctuation.

Most libraries have summer reading programs for kids. There’s lots of on-line books too - like my Billy the Bull books series for kids and our outdoor recreation guides that give you ideas for summer fun.

Healthy kids are up to you. So, make time to read for 30 to 60 minutes each day during the summer to keep your brain strong.
