Hiking is a great way to stay healthy.
Choose trails that are well marked and trails that match your level of hiking experience and skills. Wear comfortable and durable footwear and hiking boots are recommended. Using a hiking stick or pole is also a good idea.
Carry plenty of water and a small first aid kit.
Always plan ahead and be aware of weather conditions. If it looks like it is going to rain – you may want to postpone your hike for another day or at the very least - make sure to stay on higher ground and avoid narrow canyons that could lead to flash floods.
Always hike with at least one other person for safety reasons. Stay away from the edge. People die each year from falls suffered after getting too close to the edge of cliffs and steep rocks.
